That's what sucks about our codex. Who brings a missile launcher or multi melta to a spacehulk fight? No-one.. Meltagun yes, Flamer yes, Plasmagun maybe, heavy weapons, no!
ReplyDeleteWe're meant to triumph through fewer numbers but higher levels of weaponry, training, tactics and technology, yet, we can't even take two assault special weapons to a boarding action?

Good list though, you managed to pack a fair bit in with your 1000pts. What's the story with the second techmarine, narative? I'd drop him, put a fist on the other SM Sergeant and get yourself another TH/SS Terminator.
You might even have enough to give meltabombs to the SM's which would be handy in a hulk or enemy cruiser.
A 2nd special would be nice but if playing on the hull of the ship (as ive tried to balance the list to cover all 3 types of boarding actions as both attacker and defender) I imagine they will be useful.
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd techmarine is in there because of points (it was the cheapest option) and i like my 5/10 man style units as thats what the codex says and I like it that way, it feels more SM like to me.
And i also imagine lots of techmarines in a boarding action to mess up on board systems, retrive data and/or protect it from the enemey if defending, things like that.
